Special Meeting Called

On Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 5pm at Village Hall, there will be a special board meeting, the purpose of which will be to address the recent resignation of our Village President.

There are 3 items on the agenda, all related to that one topic.

  1. Appoint acting village president until vacancy is filled. This role is currently being filled by Lee Wishau but that’s officially just to tie us over until the next board meeting.

  2. Discuss and potentially act on filling the vacancy for the remainder of Tom’s term.

  3. If the vacancy is filled with a current trustee, then we’ll also discuss the method of replacing the vacancy we create.

Summarizing state and local law, we can appoint someone to fill a vacant seat with a majority vote of the board or we can have a special election. The president’s seat will be up for re-election in April 2027 no matter what we do.
