What is Yarl?
Yarl is a running log program. Whether a recreational jogger or a serious runner, Yarl can capture and report on the data that makes up your running. It's free, too, so you should at least download it and try it. If you still need convincing, read on, otherwise skip to the bottom of the page and start downloading.
Features
First, the serious:- Log data for multiple runners.
- Log each run as multiple "segments" (e.g. each lap of your 400m interval workout, or simply your usual landmarks).
- Log run "types" by segment (e.g. Interval, Recovery, Easy, Tempo, ...).
- Keep track of shoe mileage. Yarl even warns you when it's time to buy new shoes.
- Calendar view of your running.
- Dashboard view of your running (last 7 days, last 28 days, this week).
- Weekly, monthly, and yearly summaries of your running.
- Marathon prediction using the little known, but amazingly accurate Iwahashi-Parrott Indicator.
- Automatically email your logged runs to your running partners.
- Current weather data automatically populates when logging a run.
- Calculates the number of laps around the planet you've logged.
- Can calculate your average pace per shoe.
- An awesome, animated GIF (see above).
- If you don't like the reports it produces, connect to the underlying Apache Derby database and write and execute your own queries (or write me and ask me to add something).
- A little rough around the edges with form field validation. (You can probably cause it to hiccup if you try. So don't!)
